Ariela Mariano awarded Martina Thurmond Scholarship!

Ariela Mariano has been awarded the Zonta Club of Key West’s Martina Thurmond Ongoing Education Scholarship.   DSC_0448   This scholarship is designed to assist a woman, at least 30 years old, who is interested in advancing in her current career or making a career change through continuing education. Zonta partnered with FKCC to award a $1,500 scholarship to a new attendant or enrolled student of FKCC.  Pictured (Left to Right):Penni Wise , Martina Thurmond, Heather Dow, Marilyn Douthett, Ariela Mariano, Cyndi Chatman.

Zonta says NO to violence against women

On Wednesday November 5, The City of Key West joined Zontians around the world and the Zonta Club of Key West to proclaim that on November 25, 2014 and during the “16 Days of Activism” all citizens are urged to support work to end violence against women and to eliminate the detrimental consequences is has on the well-being of our community.

The Zonta Club of Key West held their school supplies drive to benefit two different locations: Poinciana and the Keys Center Academy.
